Greetings,

Sonia, a transgender woman from Spain has began a petition on Change.org aimed to help transgender community in her city, Madrid.

"Transgender community is one of the most un protected and vulnerable in both levels, socially and labors. The law of gender identity approved in 2007, gave us certain legal equality, still a long road for a real full equality. This situation get´s even worse when official documents and desired identity are un matched for many reasons, for example being an immigrant or an under age, it gets worse in cases of violence aimed to transgender individuals.
For this reason I am asking the local council and the state area administration, to use the abandoned building of the old hospital "Puerta de Hierro" or any other space of the many that are un used in both administrations to give the use of a residence for homeless transgenders and victims of gender violence, and a social space open to the neighborhood, where to begin a recycling workshop ,restoration of un used furniture for later be sold and generate earnings for the workers".
